2 suspected cross-border car snatchers arrested

Two suspected members of a cross-order car snatching syndicate have been arrested and a Toyota Corolla which they allegedly snatched from its owner at gunpoint recovered in the Abule Ado area of Lagos State.

The suspects, Kosoko Rafiu and Nunayo Sunayo, were said to be citizens of the Republic of Benin.

It was learnt that the suspects, hiding under the cover of the hunger protest, collected the vehicle from its owner and were said to be heading to Benin Republic when they were sighted by a police patrol team.

Lagos State police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, who disclosed the arrest, said the suspects were first sighted around noon around the Trade Fair area of Ojo.

He said the suspects were pursued until the police caught up with them around Abule Ado and a Toyota Corolla with registration number, JJJ 741 EJ, and charms were recovered from them.
