Two pilgrims from Sokoto State have returned $700, CFAs15,000 and 137 Saudi riyal missing from another pilgrim from the state.
One of the pilgrims, Dauda Ibrahim from Gwadabawa LGA, said they found the money on the second flour of Rhoda Hotel, the official accommodation of Sokoto State pilgrims along Masfalah area.
Ibrahim, an onion farmer, told Daily Trust that he found it difficult to complete his Hajj fare but that he would not be greedy.
A cleric, Sheikh Umar Maidamma Shagari, commended the pilgrims for their action assuring them that Allah will reward them. Shagari said the committee traced the owner of the money, one Shu’aibu Usman from Isa LGA, and handed it back to him.
Meanwhile, 500 Saudi Riyals was contributed to a female pilgrim who lost her BTA.
