Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a 52-year-old man, Dada Owolabi and one Kolawoke Olawoye for allegedly robbing passengers in traffic at Ogudu/Alapere expressway.
It was learnt that the duo were members of a larger syndicate, who attacks occupants of vehicles in the area.
The suspects, along with other fleeing members of their gang, were said to have robbed people of cash and valuables at gunpoint.
Lagos State Police Spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, said the arrest amplified the zeal of the command to curtail traffic robbery in the state.
Adejobi said the suspects were nabbed by a decoy team of policemen from RRS detailed to monitor the area during peak traffic period.
He said the suspects were arrested at about 10 pm and that they were assisting the police to apprehend other fleeing members of their gang.
