Police Prosecutor Caleb Leranmo alleged that the accused committed the offence on July 29 at 9.20 a.m. at Fajuyi area of the state capital.

According to him, the accused had in their possession some kits and uniforms of the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission, property of the National Anti-Corruption Volunteer Corps.

Leranmo said the men were also caught wearing ICPC jackets, thereby impersonating ICPC officials.

The offence contravened Section 109 (a) and 430 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ekiti State 2012.

The prosecutor applied for a date of adjournment to enable him to study the case file and assemble his three witnesses.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty and their lawyer, Mr Simeon Ojo, urged the court to grant them bail, promising they will not jump bail.

In his ruling, the Chief Magistrate, Mr Adesoji Adegboye, granted the duo bail in the sum of N200,000 each with two responsible sureties each including a civil servant.

He adjourned the case until Aug. 21 for hearing. (NAN)
