Gunmen on Saturday attacked a commercial bus on Obbo Ayegunle-Osi Road, Kwara State, and killed two people and abducted several others.
The incident occurred around 5pm when the armed men attacked an 18-seater bus with REG NO XC 167 MUN and shot into the vehicle.
The driver, identified simply as Akeem, and one Mama Ariye died in the process while the rest of the passengers were abducted.
Confirming the incident on Sunday, the state’s police spokesman, Ajayi Okasanmi, said policemen, vigilantes, hunters and available members of sister agencies had launched a manhunt for the abductees.
He said the corpses of the driver and the woman had been deposited at Carosi Hospital.
