2 killed, others injured in Sallah day crash on Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode road

Two persons have lost their lives and three others sustained injuries in a road crash along the Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode road.

The incident, involving a Howo truck without registration number and a blue Toyota Camry car with registration number, APP478FS, occurred around 11:28am on Sunday.

Florence Okpe, the spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State, confirmed the details to journalists in Abeokuta.

“The rescue operation was conducted by a team from FRSC Zebra 50 of the Ijebu Ode unit command,” Okpe stated.

She attributed the accident to speeding and loss of control, resulting in collision between the two vehicles.

The injured victims were transported to the General Hospital, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, while the deceased were also taken to the same facility.

Sector Commander CC Anthony Uga expressed condolence to the families of the victims and urged motorists to refrain from speeding and maintain full concentration while driving.
