Two persons have been reportedly killed just as one person was kidnapped at Lungu village of Dan-Ali town in Danmusa local government area of Katsina state.
Those killed are Rabiu Aikau and one simply identified as Manya who are believed to be brothers. The kidnapped victim whose name is yet to be ascertained as at press time is said to be a son to Aikau.
Daily Trust gathered that the killed persons are herders and lost their lives trying to guard against the kidnap of their son and rustle of their animals.
The state police command is yet to respond to enquiry made in this regard by our reporter as at the time of filing this story.
Meanwhile, the command however said On 1st and 22nd January, 2019 at Danmusa LGA of Katsina state, it succeeded in rescuing one Aminu Lawal Mai Caji, aged 30 years, and Fatima Alh. Haruna, ‘F’, aged 50 years all of Danmusa LGA, Katsina from kidnappers.
The spokesman of the command, SP Gambo Isah, in a statement said it recovered two (2) Ak 47 rifles with Breech Nos. 75639 and 197821777 with seven (7) and five (5) rounds of 7.62mm life ammunition respectively.
Similarly, on 14/01/2019 at about 20:00hrs, the Command after fierce encounter with armed bandits recovered one AK 47 rifle with Breech No.20174 with eighteen (18) rounds of life ammunition and two Bajaj motorcycles from the hoodlums.
