Two people were killed on Thursday when armed robbers struck at a commercial (Wema) bank in Okuku, Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun.
The Commissioner not Police in the State, CP Wale Olokode said “while escaping, the armed robbers were shooting sporadically and gunshots hit two persons.

Daily Trust gathered that five armed robbers attacked the bank around 5pm when the bank had closed for the day and many staff had left the premises.
“When they entered the bank they order the bank staff to open one of the ATM machines which he did. They ordered him to open another one but he couldn’t because the key was not with him,” a source said.
The CP said the armed robbers couldn’t break the bank’s vault and left hurriedly before policemen got to the scene.
He initially said no one was killed.
He said policemen have been deployed to ensure the arrest of the robbers and assure that they would be apprehended and brought to book.
