The latest killings which involved rival gang members of the Aiye and Eiye cults involved a security attached to one of the streets in Aiyetoro.

The body of the young man was shredded by his killers who lured him out of his house to where he was killed.

A source said the deceased was actually intervening in a case of a theft of a phone allegedly involving a member of Aiye.

The source said a resident had allegedly reported to the victim how his phone was forcefully collected from him by a member of the Aiye.

He further explained that, “What happened was that the victim brokered peace between the owner of the phone and the cult gang members. After the peace meeting the gang members promised to return the phone.

“Two days later, the cultists called the security man to come and collect the phone. He went and collected the phone and handed it over to its owner.

“However, the gang members fired a shot at the victim as he was living the area. Other members of the gang started matcheting him until they reduced his body to a hip of meat.”

It was learnt that the assailants left on two motorcycles untouched as those who witnessed the killing took to their heels.

The second casualty was recorded in the Iyana-Era area of Ijanikin.

The victim whose age was put at about 28 was killed by the road side.

Lagos State Police Command’s spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, said he was not aware of the killings.
