Two police officers were killed yesterday when gunmen attacked a police station at Igueben, the administrative headquarters of Igueben Local Government of Edo State.
It was gathered that several officers sustained injuries and arms and ammunition were carted away by the hoodlums who attacked the station around 08:00pm with dynamite before gaining access.
Meanwhile, the youths of the area took to the streets protesting the attack which they claimed was not carried out by indigenes and therefore called on the state government to probe the attack.
When contacted, the Edo State police spokesman, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, said the state Commissioner of Police, Johnson Kokumo, would address the matter.
