The police in Jigawa State, yesterday, confirmed the death of two persons, a 64-year-old and an infant, as a result of car accident which in Gumel Local Government Area (LGA).
The state’s police spokesman, DSP Zubairu Aminudeen, in a statement, said six other persons sustained injuries in the crash.
DSP Aminudeen said the incident occurred on the Gumel-Hadejia Road in Gumel at about 9.am when the driver of a Toyota Sharon “lost control and the vehicle somersaulted and fell into a ditch. As a result, one Usman Mohammed (64) from Nguru LGA of Yobe State and one Hamza Mohammed (7 months) died.
