2 held for gang raping 18-year-old woman in Ogun

The police in Ogun State have arrested two men, Emmanuel Thompson and Joshua Godwin, for gang raping an 18-year-old woman in Sagamu LGA.

The police spokesman in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the victim reported to the police that she boarded a commercial motorcycle at about 8am on Tuesday from MRI Company area to Ogijo Bus Stop, and that on the way, the rider who carried another male passenger and suddenly changed route.

Oyeyemi also quoted her saying that the male passenger started threatening to kill her if she didn’t cooperate with them.

He said, “She said they forcefully took her to a room where two other men were waiting for them. And that the two men and the male passenger took turns to have sex with her.”

He said following the report, the DPO of Ogijo, CSP Onatufe Umoh, detailed detectives to the scene where two of the suspects were arrested while their accomplices escaped.

He said the two arrested suspects have confessed to the crime.
