Residents of the area woke on Monday morning and discovered their bodies in pools of blood.
It was further gathered that those who killed them did not take away anything from the filling station, a development that raised suspicion that the incident might be assassination.
The incident was said to have caused fear in the town coming on the heels of a reported Hausa settlers’ clash with police in the area on Friday.
It would be recalled that the Hausa residents in the town had on Friday clashed with the police over the police refusal to hand over two robbery suspects who attempted to steal a motorcycle to them to deal with.
The Hausa youths had demanded that the two suspects be handed over to them so that they could deal with them, a request the police turned down.
The youths reportedly insisted to have their way, hurling stones and sticks at the police officers.
The police were said to have been forced to fire shots into the air to disperse the youths.
Our correspondent further gathered that the police had to call for reinforcement from other formations in the state to quell the crisis, while some leaders in the town from both the Hausa and Yoruba communities intervened to restore normalcy.
When contacted, the police spokesman in the state, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said he was yet to be briefed on the incident.
