“I was driving home when I saw some youths numbering about 100 inflicting themselves with cutlass wounds.
“My family contacted me that they were running as fast as possible to a neighbouring community where they will take refuge. My family informed me that many people had been injured as the fighters were entering houses in search of their opponents,” he said.
A patent medicine seller in the area, who simply identified himself as Mr Nwulu, said the clash “started around 11 am between the Okada riders from Yoruba and Hausa extractions. The battle became fierce between 1 and 3 pm at Ola Imam, Baale bus stop.”
Lagos State police spokesman, SP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who confirmed the clash, however said, “Nobody was killed, but some people were injured. They have been treated and discharged”, he added.
