The herder, Muhammad Abdullahi, who was rushed to the Umaru Musa Yar’adua Hospital, yesterday spoke to City & Crime from the hospital.
He said that the farm’s workers numbering about 10 were processing rice and that his animals were grazing behind them.
He explained that, “One of them demanded that I should come down to assist them in the work. I told her that would not be possible, as I had to watch after the cattle so that they don’t graze on the crops.
“She became annoyed and invited her co-workers to attack me with a machete, sticks and every available object in their possession.’’
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Sabon-Wuse, CSP Lateef Biodun, who confirmed the incident, added that suspects had been arrested, while others were on the run.
