A driver and his conductor escaped death after a truck went up in flames at Awawa village on the Abuja-Lokoja road on Monday.
A witness said the incident happened around 9am when the DAF truck without registration number fully loaded with electronic gadgets belonging to Jumia caught fire.

He said the driver, who was conveying the electronics from Abuja to Lagos noticed a thick smoke billowing under the truck and applied brakes and stopped.
He further said before men of the fire service could arrive the scene from Abaji, fire had consumed the truck.
City & Crime reporter who later arrived the scene saw police and officials of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) controlling traffic, even as some villagers and scavengers were busy retrieving the burnt electronics.
When contacted, the Abaji unit commander of the FRSC, ACC Abubakar Shehu Dogondaji, confirmed the incident.
