A transformer vandal has been apprehended by residents of Senior Staff Quarters in Abaji town in Abaji Area council of the FCT.
A resident, Salihu Usman, said the incident happened around 4am on Wednesday when three hoodlums invaded a transformer station in the area and attempted to steal cables.
He said the man who lived close to the transformer on his way to the mosque to observe the Subhi prayers sighted the hoodlums and raised alarm.
He further said, “When the man saw the thieves and shouted, security men guarding the private residence of the chairman of the council shot into the air, which caused two of them to escape. But one of them was hooked by the barbed wire inside the transformer cage and was apprehended by residents.”
