2 die in opened wells in Kano — state Fire service

Two persons have died in Kano after felling into wells in two separate incidences, Daily Trust reports.

The two incidences happened at Kwagar Kanawa in Gezawa LGA and Sabuwar Unguwa in Rano LGA all of Kano state.

The state fire service while confirming the incidence in a statement on Thursday said a distress call was received from Kwagar kanawa, Gezawa local government area at 8am through Gezawa police division.

“Officers of the service who later arrived the scene discovered that that it was a girl of about nine (9) years old by name Aisha Musa that fell inside a well. She was rescued unconscious and later confirm dead” the spokes man of the service, Malam Saidu Muhammad stated in a statement issued in Kano.

He added that “her corpse was later handed to the Village head by name Alhaji Abubakar Usman of Kwagar kanawa village.”

In a related development, Muhammad confirmed that a 65 years old, Isah Amadu Kamilu also fell inside a well and died at Sabuwar Unguwa in Rano.

His body was handed to his Brother Malam Amadu Kamilu of Rano local government for burial.
