Two men have been arraigned over allegedly stealing coils and rods from a technical college in Patigi in Kwara State.
According to the police report, the suspects, Suleman Mohammed and Ahmed Baba, were arrested by vigilantes employed by the school and handed over to the police.
The report reads in part: “They broke into the fabrication and electrical department of the school where machines were damaged and made away with irons and coils worth about N16m. They confessed to the crime during investigation.”
The report revealed that their arrest led to the arrest of one Liman Nuhu, the alleged buyer, adding that two others, Ndagi Ibrahim and Alhaji Muatu (at large), were also involved in the crime.
Defence counsel, Barrister Sharafadeen, urged the court to grant his clients bail.
The Magistrate, M.S. Lawal, granted the defendants bail and adjourned the case to September 13, 2024.
