A Grade 1 Area Court in Karu, Abuja, on Thursday sentenced two brothers – Henry Zaka, 21 and Musa Zaka, 25, to six months in prison each for stealing two generators.
The judge, Inuwa Maiwada, gave the verdict after the convicts pleaded guilty to a three-count charge of joint acts, criminal trespass and theft.
He also gave them an option of N30,000 fine each and warned them to desist from committing crime.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Vincent Osuji, told the court that one Abubakar Usman of Nyanya, Abuja reported the matter at Karu Police Station on Sept. 5.
He said the complainant alleged that the convicts jointly conspired, entered his furniture workshop and stole his small and big generators, both valued at N110,000 on Aug. 27.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened sections 80, 348 and 287 of the penal code law.
