Two members of a car snatching syndicate, Toheeb Jimoh (26) and Habeeb Ishola (35), have been arrested for allegedly stealing a car belonging to the US Embassy, in Lagos.
Their arrest followed a complaint by the embassy of the diversion of their truck which had a vehicle in it.
Lagos State police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the arrest, said the suspects got wind of the whereabouts of the truck and its content.
He said inside the truck was a brand new Nissan Rogue belonging to the embassy.

Hundeyin explained that the suspects worked on information, intercepted the truck and drove it away.
He further said, “We deployed our intelligence assets, and after diligent investigation, the truck was recovered and two suspects were arrested while negotiating to sell the truck and its contents for N5m. The truck is presently at the state headquarters, Ikeja.”
