2 arraigned over motorcycle theft

Two persons, Ismail Mohammed, 23, and Abiodun Femi Ayo, 22, have been arraigned in a magistrates’ court in Ado Ekiti over the allegation of stealing a motorcycle.

Police Prosecutor, Inspector Oriyomi Akinwale, informed the court on Wednesday that the defendants, on September 17, 2021, at about 10:00pm at Iworoko Ekiti, stole a Jincheng motorcycle with Registration No. YEE 630 QB valued at N250, 000, property of one Olusola Emmanuel.

The prosecutor said the offence is punishable under Section 516, 390 (9) of the Criminal Code Cap 30, Vol. ll, Laws of Ekiti State of Nigeria 2011.

Counsel to the defendants, Barr. A. B. Aladesuyi, urged the court to grant them bail, saying they would not jump bail.

The Magistrate, Mr M. O. Faola, granted the defendants bail of N100,000 each with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case until October 12, 2021, for hearing.
