2 armed robbers burnt to death in Kano

Two of them were apprehended by the youth, beaten and set fire on them

Two gunmen, suspected to be armed robbers were burnt to death by some angry youth at Rimi village, Sumaila Local Government Area of Kano State.

The incident happened on Tuesday when the three suspected armed robbers entered Rimi for operation but were repelled by a group of youths in the area.

Two of them were apprehended by the youth, beaten and set fire on them until they were burnt to ashes.

Police spokesman in Kano, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, confirmed the incident to newsmen.

According to him, the command received a distress call that a mob set two notorious armed robbers on fire while the other one escaped.

He said when police arrived at the scene, they found that the robbers were burnt to ashes, thereby evacuating their remains to a hospital.

Kiyawa added that “We have recovered knives and other weapons believed to belong to the deceased suspects.

“As of now, the state’s Commissioner of Police, Samaila Shuaibu Dikko, has ordered a thorough investigation into the matter.”

DSP Kiyawa called on the people of the state to desist from taking laws into their hands in order to avoid killing innocent persons.
