Speaking to Daily Trust yesterday on the outcome of the elections, the vice-chairman of Lobi Stars alleged that money exchanged hands and so it was practically impossible to stop certain candidates from winning.
Iorfa said he was disappointed by the desperate behaviour of some of the contestants who indulged in the despicable act to win by all means.
Asked why he did not complain before the elections were held, Iorfa said his co-contestants saw everything that transpired but kept quiet so he too decided to say nothing.
He however said before the election commenced, he made some of his observations known and when what he suspected eventually happened, he spoke his mind and left the venue.
“I want to say without fear of contradiction that people who have money to share to delegates won the elections. I sensed danger but since my co-contestants chose to keep silent, there was nothing I could do as an individual.
“Personally I cannot induce anybody to vote for me in an election. Although I am always very passionate about football, I can’t pay to lead Nigerian football. It was about service that I wanted to render freely so why should I give money to anyone?” he asked.
