Kano state government in collaboration with Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) and Tolaram foundations has distributed free artificial limbs to 190 people who have lost either a leg or hand as a result of accident or other related causes.
Speaking to the benefiting amputees during the distribution exercise held at Muhammadu Buhari Specialist Hospital Giginyu yesterday, Kano state deputy Governor, Dr. Nasir Yusuf Gawuna stated that, Kano state government has taken it up to assist such people irrespective of their political affiliation, origin or religion.
“It is indeed a thing of joy for Kano state government to see you walk again, we are ready to do more in collaboration with our partners to see that more amputees’ gets free artic. Moreover, this is a sign that shows that every individual is important to Kano state government,” said Gawuna.
Coordinator Tolaram foundation Dr. Usman Idris Funtua stated that, the foundation has in four years gave out free artificial limbs to over 3, 791 people in Nigeria, adding that Kano state is leading among other states collaborating with the foundation in assisting people without limbs to access free artificial limbs.
