Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have kidnapped 19 persons, including a driver travelling from Jalingo, Taraba State to Abuja on Thursday night.
Daily Trust Saturday learnt that the passengers, including women and children, all from Taraba State, were travelling in a commercial Hummer bus when they ran into a road block mounted by kidnappers around the Egon area of the state late Thursday night.

It was learnt that all the passengers and the driver of the bus, identified as Musa Wambai, were abducted and taken to an unknown location.
It was further gathered that the kidnappers also drove the bus away from where they abducted the passengers.
The owner of the commercial bus, who would not like his name mentioned, confirmed the incident yesterday in Jalingo, adding that the abductors have started contacting families of the passengers and demanding for ransom.
The commissioner of police in Nasarawa State, Maiyaki Muhammed-Baba, said the command was aware of the incident, adding that the anti-kidnapping operatives from the command have been deployed to ensure the rescue of the victims.
“As early as 6am, the command drafted the anti-kidnapping squad from the police headquarters, alongside the divisional police, including the local police in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area, to rescue the victims. As I am speaking to you, all of them are in the bush searching for the victims,” he said.
