At least 170 trained female entrepreneurs have received a N150,000 cash grant each in two LGAs of Yobe State to boost their businesses and increase household incomes.
Speaking during the distribution of the cash, the Executive Secretary of the Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (YOSEMA), Dr Muhammad Goje, said the young entrepreneurs underwent a week-long training and profiling for the start-up grant.
He said that in addition to their vocational skills, the women received training on financial literacy, savings and other essential business skills to ensure that they were well-equipped to manage and grow their enterprises sustainably.
He added that the initiative represented a crucial step towards empowering women entrepreneurs, fostering economic growth and promoting social cohesion within the community.
