The Katsina State Police Command has arrested 17 armed robbery suspects and five car snatchers, the command’s Public Relation Officer, DSP Aminu Sadiq, said.
Speaking with Daily Trust in Katsina, Sadiq said that several ammunition, pistols and guns were recovered from the suspects.
He listed the vehicles recovered to include an unregistered Toyota Camry , Honda Civic (1990 model) with registration number AA 54 SKF, CRV Honda jeep with registration number GWA 885 RZ, Toyota Land Cruiser Jeep, a tipper with registration number KUJ 775 XB and a Peugeot J5 with registration number AT 293 KTS.
Sadiq said that as part of the ongoing raiding of all black spots and criminals’ hideouts, no fewer than 86 suspects were apprehended, with 76 charged to court while 10 were awaiting trial.
He called on people to assist the police with useful and timely information.
Such information, he said, would be treated confidentially.
