16,873 pensioners now on FG’s monthly payroll- PTAD

Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) said yesterday that  it has to date verified and put on federal government’s monthly pensionpayroll, a total of 16,873 pensioners.

The figure, according to Executive Secretary,  Sharon Ikeazor of the directorate, in a statement, a total of 759 next of kins of deceased pensioners of government’s defunct agencies that had equally been paid their departed breadwinner’s final entitlements.

In a recent statement, Ikeazor stated that seven defunct and privatized agencies had been so far verified and included in the national payroll.

A breakdown of the agencies involved show that NITEL/MTEL had 10,801 pensioners, Delta Steel Company 3,593, NICON Insurance  949, Nigeria Reinsurance 292, New Nigeria Newspapers 507, Nigerian Defense Academy (Civilians) 79 and Federal Housing Authority 652.
