1,588 Bauchi civil servants pass promotion exam

Ten civil servants failed promotion exams in Bauchi state, out of 1,599.

The 1,588 who passed represent 97.27 percent.

Bauchi state Head of Service Liman Bello Liman Bello called the pass rate encouraging.

The promotion exams for staff of some Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs) took place in December 2016.

He said that the results of the examinations are ready and will be distributed to the various MDAs for immediate action.

"The results of the promotion exams that took place on 29th December 2016 are ready and the examination board has since sat and deliberated on the results and have adopted them, the results will dispatched to all Ministries, Departments and Agencies as directed by my office for immediate processing of promotion cases," he said.

Bello also promised that his office is making efforts to procure and distribute all the regulatory books guiding the civil service rules.

The HOS noted that the regulatory books to be distributed include; Financial Instructions, Store Regulations, Procurement Act and the Scheme of Service to guide the civil servants for effective and better performance

He however warned the people conducting verification exercise for workers in the state to desist from selling the verification forms to the civil servants and pensioners because the forms are to be given free of charge.

He informed that he received complaints that are screening the workers are allegedly selling the forms to the civil servants and pensioners at the rate of N1, 000.

 

The Head Of Service therefore vowed that anybody caught extorting money from workers in the name of verification would be decisively dealt with.

"This government has zero tolerance for corruption and misconduct. Let me seize this opportunity to inform the General Public and in fact the civil servants and pensioners that the report getting in to my office indicates that some forms, the computerization forms being distributed to civil servants were being sold by unscrupulous public officers. I want to warn those in the act to desist from such because the forms are not for sale,"He reiterated.
