1500 vulnerable women empowered in Jos

About 1500 women have benefited from the free cash donation of N10,000, by Hon. Ibrahim Baba Hassan, a member representing Jos North in the Plateau State Assembly.

According to the member, the gesture is meant  to mitigate the effect of economic hardship caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

He said looking at the economic hardship being faced by Nigerians, there was the need to support the most vulnerable women from his constituency.

“Because of the current situation of the country, and that we are in the second phase of the recession that is why I said, let me call my constituents to support them.

“As you can see that there are more than 1,500 women, and N10,000 is something big to the women. They will use it to start a business and take care of their homes,” he said.

Hon. Hassan said the disbursement was part of his state constituency project and was carried out in collaboration with the Plateau State Small and Micro Enterprises Agency(PLASMEDA).

Ms. Sarah Festus, a beneficiary, said, “I am so excited, I am overwhelmed and  will use the ten thousand to start up a business.”
