14 private guard companies suspended

Ihebom, who announced this while briefing men and officers in the Borno command of the NSCDC, said the affected PGCs had failed to comply with the federal government’s policy which makes it compulsory for them to register with NSCDC and send their personnel for a one month mandatory training with the corps. The suspended private security outfits include Halogen Security Ltd, Kings Guard Nig Ltd, Niger Guards Nig Ltd, Zenith Security Ltd, and Diamond Security Ltd, among others.

“NSCDC will do everything possible to comply with the federal government’s directive on training and re-training of private guards. It would be wrong for PGC to do what they want or think  is better than that stipulated by government and, as far as civil defence is concerned, those companies whose personnel are not trained are not qualified to operate,“ he noted.
