Fourteen Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members in the Adamawa State House of Assembly have undertaken to buy nomination form for Governor Fintiri’s re-election bid.
The 25-member parliament comprises 14 PDP and 11 All Progressives Congress (APC) members.
The Speaker, Aminu Iya Abbas, told newsmen yesterday that Governor Fintiri had done perfectly well in his first term and therefore merited a return come 2023 as the governor of Adamawa State.
“In furtherance of our vote of confidence on His Excellency Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, we the PDP members in the House have decided to get his re-election nomination and expression of interest forms for him,” he said.
So far, nobody within the PDP in the state has shown interest in the party’s governorship ticket which could be attributed to the expectation that he will seek a second term.
