A 13-year-old girl in Ido-Osun, Egbedore LGA of Osun State has accused her father, Kazeem Olapade, of raping her.
The Police Public Relations Officer of Osun State Police Command, Yemisi Opalola, told Daily Trust, in Osogbo on Saturday, that the matter is under investigation and assured that it would be thoroughly investigated.
The girl, who said her parents have separated, said she lives with her father in his house.
She said her father warned her not to tell anyone, including her mother, but she later decided to tell her mother.
She said: “My father covered my mouth with a pillow when he raped me and I saw blood thereafter and he threatened me not to tell anyone.”
She said her father was a barber and later became a drummer and that he has four houses in Osogbo.
The girl, who is in Junior Secondary School (JSS1), did not mention the specific date the incident happened.
The matter was reported to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps through a non-governmental organisation and the case was later taken to the police.
