At least 13 passengers sustained injuries in a crash along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Sunday.
Our correspondent gathered that the accident occurred Sunday morning around Car Park C along the highway.
The spokesman of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State, Florence Okpe, confirmed the accident in Abeokuta, saying it happened at about 4:55 am.
Okpe said operatives of the agency had swiftly responded to carry out rescue operations.
She said a total of 22 persons were involved in the crash; 21 male adults and one female adult.
“13 persons were injured (12 male adults and 1 female adult). No lives lost from the crash,” Okpe said.
She added that the crash involved three trucks, a Toyota Corolla car, and a Toyota Hiace bus.
She attributed the cause of the crash to road obstruction and over-speeding, leading to the loss of control of the wheels by the driver.
“The injured victims were taken to Farmobis Hospital Mowe Lotto for medical attention,” she said.
