13 abductees rescued in Niger

Thirteen abductees have been rescued by security operatives in Gurara and Paikoro LGAs of Niger State.

 The state’s Commissioner for Internal Security and Humanitarian Affairs, Emmanuel Umar, disclosed this in Minna, noting that the rescued victims were nine women and three men.

 He gave the names of the victims as Ramatu Usman, Jamila Jafaru, Fatima Usman, Hassana Usman, Salamatu Bio, Suleman Usman, Bayi Mohammed, Awwalu Shagari, whom he said were kidnapped at Maje-Daji in Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT.

 He said the other victims were Fauziya Musa, Nazifa Ibrahim, Mansura Musa, and Wasila Musa who were kidnapped at Gwalu village in Paikoro LGA of Niger State.

 Umar further said they were rescued on Friday around 1pm following a tip off that bandits were sighted around Bonu, Gwalu, and Chimbi areas of Gurara and Paikoro LGAs.
