Over 127 civil society organisations (CSOs) Friday stormed the National Assembly and some major streets in Abuja, protesting against the rising insecurity and general state of the country.

The protesters urged President Muhammadu Buhari and the National Assembly to take urgent steps to secure the lives and property of Nigerians as a result of the incessant violence across the country.

The programme manager, Governance and Development Department, Yiaga Africa, Ibrahim Faruk, told newsmen during the peaceful march to mark the ‘National Day of Mourning and Remembrance Day, 2021’ that it was a symbolic action to register citizens’ dissatisfaction with the state of Nigeria’s national security.
