A 12-year old girl on Thursday evening died while five others were injured in a lone accident involving a Nissan Murano at Awowo axis of the Old Lagos/Abeokuta expressway.
Our correspondent learnt that the Murano marked FST 764 HB with six passengers was on its way from Lagos to Abeokuta when the accident occurred in the evening.
It was further learnt that the driver of the vehicle lost control of the wheels due to excessive speeding, after which the vehicle somersaulted.
The girl reportedly died on the spot.
The Public Relations Officer of Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi confirmed the incident to newsmen in Abeokuta.
Akinbiyi disclosed that the injured victims have been taken to a private hospital at Papalanto for treatment, while the dead have been deposited at the morgue of Ifo General Hospital.
