Your values form the foundation of your life. They dictate the choices you make and determine      the direction that your life takes. Your values will influence your decisions related to your relationships, career, and other activities you engage in. They act as the compass that guide you  in life. Without values, you drift and will not likely achieve much.

Jesus had strong values. He valued many things but I will highlight twelve of them.

1. He valued Life. He is Life and he came to give it. He did not take the life of anyone. He  preserved it and when people lost it, he restored it. We must not take the life of others no matter what! We must not commit abortion; we must not kill.

2. He valued Love. He was motivated by it. He gave love freely to others. He lived by love,  and died because of love. Love makes you a giver; not a taker!

3. He valued Peace. He is the Prince of Peace. He brought peace to mankind!

4. He valued truth. Truth is not relative when the will of God is known. He is the truth. He valued Knowledge so he pursued it.  Knowledge is power. It is not a coincidence that the  all-knowing God is also the all-powerful God. At the age of 12, he sat with the most knowledgeable people in the temple learning by asking searching questions.

He knew the value of knowledge. He said you shall know the truth and it shall make you  free. Whatever will deprive you of education will deprive you of elevation. Show me a single professor who is begging for food! Show me a specialist who is stranded!

Jesus valued wisdom, pursued it and grew in it and then favour followed! Learn something new every day-about God, your talent, your work, business, etc. Read good books; listen to inspiring messages. The Bible says in 2Peter 1:2, “Grace and peace be  multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord…” Favour  multiplies when knowledge multiplies.

It takes understanding to become outstanding. The Bible emphasized the place of wisdom and says get it. You were not born with it so you acquire it. Keep learning! You might  have graduated from the University where you got a degree but you never graduate from  the University of Life. Friend,… keep learning!

5. He valued Relationships: with God, with people. What God desires most is to have a  relationship with you. If you have no relationship with God you are nothing! He also wants us to have healthy relationships with others. He treated people well. He was unselfish. Selfish leaders don’t care about others. Jesus had twelve disciples. On the cross, he was giving his mother a son. Relationships multiply you or diminish you. He took fellowship seriously. Relationships protect you or expose you! Fellowship inspires you. Attend services, Cell meetings, etc. You may not know it but you will be built it.

6. He valued Faith. Trust is what sustains a relationship. He trusted the Father and the Father trusted him. 1John 5:4, “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world:

and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” Faith is your  guaranteed tool for subduing your enemies and problems. Faith is your number one  spiritual capital for changing your story. If you cannot trust God you cannot thrive!

7. He valued Prayer And Fasting. He spent time praying. He came out with answers each  time he encountered a problem. He had power; he had the anointing; he had victory!

Esther turned the battle against their enemies through prayer and fasting.

8. He valued Souls. He prayed for them; pursued them; preached to them; taught them; healed and fed them until he died for them. Today we value money, cars, houses, fame, our looks, etc. and die for them. Jesus died for souls, what are you dying for? He was  rewarded by the Father, worshipped by angels and men! What will God reward you for?

9. He valued Righteousness. He lived it; modelled it and died to give it to us! Obedience to  God characterized his life. He was exalted. Righteousness exalts! It promotes. It brings honour and dignity. On the other hand, unholy living brings shame and disgrace and finally, eternal condemnation!

10. He valued Service. He was humble. He served others. It takes humility to serve others when you are the Son of God. He taught us that service is the route to greatness. Your value is in your impact; your contribution to others! It is your impact that creates your importance. You remain small if you keep living for yourself only. Find a place to use  your gift. Don’t wait to be assigned, assign yourself. Give yourself away everyday and  you will grow bigger everyday!

11. He valued Sacrifice. He even became a sacrifice! He sacrificed time, money, his glory in heaven; even his life. He knew that to go up you must give up! How did Jesus win the battle of destiny? SACRIFICE!

12. Jesus valued Gratitude. He highlighted the need for thanksgiving. He taught  thanksgiving, praise and worship. He gave glory to the Father in all things.

Thanksgiving completes heaven’s protocol for effective prayers. Prayer is worthless  unless it is accompanied with GENUINE THANKSGIVING. It is an act of faith based on the understanding that prayers prayed in faith and in accordance with God’s will attract immediate positive response. Mark 11:23-24; 1John 5:14-15. God is always faithful! He is good, gracious and merciful! Besides, it’s a very bad habit not to say ‘thank you’ to the One who has been so good to you without demanding anything from you. As you give  thanks to the Lord, Your prayers are answered, in the name of Jesus!

Let these values guide you in your decisions, choices, pursuits, and relationships and God will truly bless you in everything and you will succeed in life.

Have a blessed and satisfying week, in Jesus name!
