11-year-old boy drowns in Kano

The Kano State Fire Service on Wednesday said its personnel had recovered a lifeless body of an 11-year-old boy in a pond at Zaidawa village, Dambatta Local Government Area.

The Spokesman for the service, Alhaji Saidu Muhammad Ibrahim who confirmed this in a statement said the victim was believed to have been playing around the pond before he accidentally slipped into the water and drowned.

He said the incident happened on Tuesday and the corpse had been handed to the deceased family for burial.
