The Shehu Dikwa, Borno State, Alhaji Mohammed Ibn Shehu Masta II El-Kanemi, passed on Saturday.
Below are eleven things to know about the late Shehu of Dikwa.

1- He was the son of Shehu Masta Kyarimi who was appointed the Shehu of Dikwa in 1937 at Dikwa but later moved his capital to Bama in 1942 at the request of colonial administrators.
2- The late Shehu studied Law at Ahmadu Bello University from 1971-1973.
3- In 1978 he went back to Ahmadu Bello University for an extensive academic course on Human Resource Management from 1978-1979.
4- He attended Human Resources Management Course at the International Centre for Management, Training, Research and Consultancy in London.
5- He was employed as a teacher in Bama Central and later transferred to Kashimri from 1962 to 1963.
6- Shehu of Dikwa was the Headmaster of Bama Central from 1967 to 1970.
7- From 1973-1976 he also served as Dikwa Local Authority (Administrative Secretary).
8- He served as Amirul Hajj and Head of Borno State Pilgrims in 1981.
9- He was also employed as head of administration by the Borno State Agricultural Development Programme (BOSADP).
10- Between 1979 and 1984, he served as Commissioner for Information during the Late Muhammad Goni administration.
11- Between 1978 and 1979, he was appointed as Secretary of Ngala local Government.
