Forum of National Assembly Legislative Aides from North West, has urged lawmakers-elect contesting the leadership positions in the 10th National Assembly to respect APC’s zoning arrangement.
APC had endorsed Godswill Akpabio (South South) and Barau Jibrin (North West) for Senate President and deputy respectively. In the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas (North West) and Benjamin Kalu (South East) were picked as preferred candidate for speaker and deputy.
The legislative aides urged other aspirants, like Abdulaziz Yari, Orji Uzor Kalu, Muktar Betara and Idris Wase to withdraw their bids for presiding officers’ seat in respect for the party’s decision.
The forum in its statement signed by Zonal Leader, Abdulrazaq Dunkawa and Secretary, Silas Gabriel Garba yesterday in Abuja, said the party was in order for picking Barau Jibrin and Abbas both from North West for deputy senate president and speaker respectively.

They said the northwest deserved the two presiding officers’ positions in appreciation of its contribution to APC’s success in the last presidential poll.
The forum said, “The North West geo-political zone contributed the highest number of votes to the APC in the presidential election.
