As the jostle for the position of the President of the 10th Senate is taking centre stage, a former Zamfara State governor, Senator Abdul ‘Aziz Abubakar Yari, has said his administration will be committed to work in harmony for the betterment of Nigeria if he emerges as Senate president.

He made the pledge yesterday at a special victory dinner in honour of 109 senators-elect of the 10th assembly organized by the Conference of All support groups (CASG-N) of Nigeria in collaboration with The Tinubu Shettima Network (TSN), themed ‘Unity and reconciliation, setting the agenda for the 10th Assembly’.

“We are committed to work in harmony for the betterment of Nigeria and by God’s grace we are going to work hand in hand with the executive in oneness. I really appreciate the decision of this organization for canvassing support for me to become the 10th president of the Senate. This is our program and we believe all of you will give us support to achieve this for a better Nigeria.

“Let me say that Nigeria is a wonderful country with wonderful people. We believe in Nigeria and we believe in the unity of Nigeria, each and every one of us, 109 senators, before being elected a senator,” Yari said.

Speaking on the sidelines of the event, National Chairman of TSN and Coordinator of CASG-N, Engr. Kailani Muhammad, said the event showed that Nigeria can be united anytime despite the diversity.
