107 Nigerians repatriated from Libya

Another batch of 107 stranded Nigerians from Tripoli, Libya has been repatriated to the country.

The Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Alhaji Mustapha Habib Ahmed, who received the returnees disclosed that yesterday’s flight brought the total number of Nigerians repatriated from Libya in 2023 alone to 690 in five flights through the Murtala Muhammad International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja.

The returnees arrived aboard an Al Buraq Air Boeing 737-800 with registration number 5A-DMG which landed at about 3:45 pm at the Cargo Wing of the Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Ikeja Lagos.

Details of the returnees indicated that there were 48 female adults, including three medical cases, 49 male adults and 10 children.

The director general who was represented by the Chief Relief and Rehabilitation Officer, Mr Aziz Afunku, said they were repatriated through the intervention of the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) with the support of international partners.
