At least 10 corpses were recovered from Unguwar Wakili in Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State after gunmen suspected to be bandits attacked the community.
The local government authorities, who announced this, declared a 24-hour curfew on Ungwan Juju, Mabuhu, Ungwan Wakili and Zangon Urban, with immediate effect.

In a statement issued by the Special Assistant (Media) to Chairman, Zangon Kataf Local Government Council of Kaduna State, Yabo Chris Ephraim, said the curfew is to allow soldiers restore peace.
The police in Kaduna are yet to react to the incident.
Kaduna is one of the North West States affected by banditry. The issue of insecurity dominated the campaign for Saturday’s election.
Isa Ashiru of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has vowed to dialogue with bandits if elected, a stance that incumbent Governor Nasir El-Rufai is against.
The governor has repeatedly said bandits deserved being killed and sent to their maker.
