The police have arrested 10 suspects for allegedly stealing from the facilities of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) in Edo, Delta, Ondo and Ekiti states.
TCN’s Benin Regional General Manager, Engr Issac Okpe, who disclosed this in Benin while speaking with journalists on grid expansion and challenges of vandalisation of its facilities, said, ‘’We have about 10 suspects that were arrested for allegedly vandalising our towers and lines in Edo, Delta, Ondo and Ekiti states under our region.”
He noted that, “People deliberately go to our towers and lines to cut them for the towers to collapse. About two years ago, they vandalised the line along Delta axis and the tower collapsed. They also vandalised our tower at Aveile, Edo axis, and it collapsed.
