One person has been confirmed dead while 10 other family members sustained various degrees of injuries in a road accident along Kano-Zaria highway, Daily Trust gathered.
The accident, involving 11 family members travelling to Zaria from Kano State, occurred around 3:20 pm on Thursday.
Details of the accident remained sketchy as at the time of filing this report.
The Federal Road Safety Corps’ Sector Commander in the state, Hafiz Mohammed, confirmed the accident to Daily Trust.
He said the injured were taken to Teaching Hospital Shika for treatment.
“Yes, my men were at the scene of the accident around Zaria and they confirmed that only one person died but they rushed 10 other family members to Teaching Hospital Shika in Zaria,” he said.
He said the accident occurred at Dumbin Rauga after Zaria towards Kaduna around 3:20 pm, adding that the vehicle involved in the tragedy was a Toyota Hiace with registration number KKR 100 XA.
