1 person, 7 cows die in Jigawa auto crash

The police in Jigawa State have disclosed that one person and seven cows were killed in an auto crash in Gagarawa Local Government Area (LGA).

Spokesman of the command, DSP Lawan Shiisu, said, “On Tuesday, at about 2 pm, there was a motor vehicle accident at Bosuwa junction in Gagarawa LGA involving a trailer with number plate: Yobe FUN 351 XA, loaded with 38 cows driven by one Abdullahi, aged 27, of Potiskum, Yobe State.

“On reaching Bosuwa junction, the driver lost control of the vehicle, veered off the road and collided with a stationary red Sharon vehicle with number plate: NNR 394 XA, parked at the shoulder of the road.”

He said one of the victims was confirmed dead at the Gumel General Hospital, while nine others were admitted at the Gagarawa Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC). (NAN)
