One person was said to have been killed and many injured when a fracas broke out again on Monday at Itafaji area of Lagos. It was learnt that the fracas, which went into the wee hours of Tuesday was between Agarawu and Onola youths.
The deceased was said to be hit by a stray bullet fired by a faction of the youths who had been on each other’s neck over who controls the area.

Among those who sustained serious wounds were traders and cart pushers who were also dispossessed of cash and valuables.
The deceased identified as ‘TIROO’ was said to have joined other youths at the Itafaji area to resist the aggression by the Agarawu boys who hide under the guise of fighting with Onola boys, to rob residents, visitors and traders along Alli Street in Lagos Island.
“Guns, cutlasses and other dangerous weapons were freely used during the crisis,” one of the affected traders said.
Meanwhile, some community leaders, including members of the Community Development Association (CDA), Igbo traders and other stakeholders in the affected areas met on Monday with the representative of the Lagos State Police Command at the Pashi/Willough to find a lasting solution to continuing unrest in the area.
Speaking with our correspondent after the meeting on Monday, the President of the Igbo traders in the area under the umbrella of ACSATAON, Dr.Chris Onyekachi Simon, said the meeting was successful as the stakeholders and the police agreed to intensify efforts to combat attacks and robbery.
Also, the Chairman of Pashi/Willoughby CDA, Mr Adamson Idowu appealed to parents to talk and discourage their children and wards from joining the bad boys, warning that “any of these boys found wanting will be prosecuted “.
