A combined team of soldiers from the 63 Brigade of the Nigerian Army (NA), operatives of the Delta State Police Command and vigilantes have killed a suspected bandit and arrested two others in Erewa community in Isoko North LGA over the killing of two police officers.
City & Crime reports that the suspected bandits on Sunday, July 23, 2023, attacked police operatives while on a stop-and-search duty at Oleh Roundabout, killed two of them and set their patrol vehicle ablaze.
The police command’s spokesman, Bright Edafe, who disclosed this on Tuesday, said that following the unfortunate incident, the Commissioner of Police (CP), Wale Abass, detailed a team of policemen attached to Ozoro Area Command, Dragon Patrol, to go after the attackers.
He noted that with the support of soldiers and vigilantes, the team engaged the hoodlums in a gun duel and subdued them, with some of them fleeing into the bush with gunshot injuries.

He added that the team traced the blood of the fleeing gunmen to a river where one AK-47 rifle was recovered.
